One dead, one sent to hospital in Frankfort collision

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Frankfort police worked a collision on Versailles Road at Lyons Drive Tuesday morning that killed one person and sent another to the hospital.

Officers say the accident happened just after 10:00 a.m. and involved a car and a tractor trailer.  Police say the tractor trailer was traveling inbound and collided with the car as it was pulling out of a parking lot.

Police say the driver of the tractor trailer was okay, but a man in the car died in the accident.  A woman in the car has been taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The Franklin County Coroner says 90-year-old William F. Howard of Frankfort died from his injuries.

The road was closed for hours.
