Murder Suspect Back In Kentucky

A suspect in a Lexington murder is back in the state.

Maurice Ward, Jr., 21, is currently being held in the Fayette County Detention Center. He is scheduled for a video arraignment at 1 p.m. Monday.

On Friday, Ward was brought back to Lexington from Tennessee, where US Marshals had arrested him earlier in October.

He is charged with murder in connection to the shooting death of Anthony Beaumont, Jr.

Police said Ward and two others followed Beaumont in a car to Northpoint Lexington Health Care.

Police said Beaumont got into a fight with one of those other people and Ward shot him multiple times.

Beaumont later died at UK Hospital.
