40 graduate from Lexington Police Training Academy
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Forty police recruits graduated from the Lexington Police Training Academy on Thursday.
Class 10-2015 is the Lexington Police Department’s largest class since 1998.
Several recruits have military experience and many have a family connection the department.
This class has participated in several community events throughout their training, including a clean-up of Duncan Park, Shop with a Cop, Polar Plunge, Habitat for Humanity, the Officer Daniel Ellis Memorial 5K, and the Booker T. Washington Academy field day.
Mayor Jim Gray, Public Safety Commissioner Ronnie Bastin and Chief Mark Barnard delivered remarks at the event.
Pastor Richard Gaines from Consolidated Baptist Church was guest speaker.
