KSP investigating after fatal crash in Lincoln Co.

LANCASTER, Ky. (WTVQ) -Kentucky State Police are investigating a fatal crash that happened on KY-39 South in Lincoln Co. at around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.

According to Troopers, 28-year-old Derrick Smith was driving south on the roadway when he lost control of his GMC Yukon, and hit a tree.  A passenger, Lindsey Moore sustained fatal injuries in the collision.  She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lincoln Co. Coroner.

Smith was taken to Ephraim McDowell Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
