What’s wrong with the UK women’s hoops program?

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Staff upheaval.  It was a common term used today at Matthew Mitchell’s news conference that lasted roughly 45 minutes at Memorial Coliseum.

It was full on damage control day by the head coach of the UK women’s basketball program.

The prevailing theme?  Let’s move forward on the right path and show there is stability and continuity to help young women grow here at UK.

And as much as Solid Blue fans may not like the answer, every departure was a separate decision and there is no overwhelming sentiment of unhappiness in Mitchell’s opinion.

A sign things are moving in the right direction?  Kyra Elzy is back on staff as the associate head coach and her return was something Mitchell’s wife Jenna quickly championed as well.
