Motorcyclist critically injured in wreck on Nicholasville Road

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police say a motorcyclist was critically injured Monday evening when he collided with a car on busy Nicholasville Road. Investigators say the motorcycle rider was inbound on Nicholasville Road around 7:20 p.m. when he slammed into the passenger side of a car that was turning left into the Zandale Shopping Center parking lot.

Police say the motorcyclist was rushed to the hospital where he was in critical condition. His name wasn’t released.

The driver of the car wasn’t hurt or cited, according to police.

Investigators say there was a motorcycle helmet at the scene, but they were still trying to determine if the rider was wearing it at the time of the collision.

That stretch of inbound Nicholasville Road was closed for about two-hours. It reopened around 9:15 p.m.
