11-year-old sent to hospital after Harlan Co. collision

HARLAN, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say that an 11-year-old child on an electric scooter was taken to the hospital after being hit in the Cobalt Estates subdivision in Harlan Co.

Troopers say it happened on Sally Rachel Lane just before 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.

According to officers, a woman driving east on the road hit the electric scooter in the center of the roadway.

The child was taken to Harlan ARH, and then flown out to UK Medical Center for treatment.  The child is listed in critical condition at this time.  The driver was not injured in the accident.

The collision is under investigation.
