Deck fire spread to house, everyone safe

WINCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) — According to the Winchester Fire Department, a fire started on the deck of a house at 1pm this afternoon, and spread to the Linden Avenue home.

Four adults and two children were inside the home at the time of the fire. They were renting the home, and the Red Cross was called, but officials say everyone had gotten out of the home safely.

Lexington Fire Department reported they sent two of their own vehicles to man Winchester’s station, just in cast there was another call while the WFD handled that fire.

After 4 hours, Winchester Fire Department says the home has some surface damage to the outside and inside walls, but is still structurally sound.

The fire is still under investigation.
