UK Adding Five New Dorms To Campus

The University of Kentucky will be adding five new dorms to campus by 2014.

The University’s Board Of Trustees overwhelmingly approved the proposal Sunday evening.

The new dorms are expected to add more than 2,900 new beds to campus. They are in addition to construction already being done on a new residence hall that will add 600 more beds to the university. That dorm looks to open next fall.

The five new residence halls are projected to open their doors in the fall of 2014. According to the university they will be a combination of two and four bedroom suites. The school plans to begin construction next month. The entire project is expected to cost around $25.2 million.
