Bad decisions make for good education in Scott Co.
SCOTT CO., Ky. (WTVQ) – On Thursday, over 700 students at Royal Springs Middle School took part in a unique event exploring the nature of bad decisions and consequences.
The event gave students a hypothetical bad decision (selling drugs at school, for example.) Based on their scenario, students then had to speak to key players in the community that would be affected by their bad decision. For instance, in the above example a student would speak with a judge, a court designated worker, a recovering addict, and their school principal.
Students also spoke to a Carrollton bus crash survivor, and watched the documentary “Impact” about the horrific incident in which 27 people were killed.
Other topics discussed included Fentanyl use, and social media crimes.
