Fallen hiker remembered as “one of a kind”

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- The coroner’s office identified the woman who fell to her death Saturday at Raven Run as a 22-year-old Transylvania University student.

The university confirmed via social media that Mary Katharine Stewart, who went by Katie, died Saturday. Crews say she was at a popular overlook when she fell 35-50 feet. They say she died from her injuries.

One of Stewart’s workplaces, Crank & Boom Ice Cream Lounge is hosted a fundraiser for family Sunday evening. The business says a portion of Sunday’s proceeds will go to the family.
