Flemingsburg gets $75,000 grant for police accreditation

FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Flemingsburg Police Department has been awarded a $75,000 federal grant to help with its efforts to earn accreditation.

The grant was announced Wednesday by the Department of Justice’s Office of Community Oriented Policing Services. More than $3.8 million was awarded to help with accreditation efforts which insure departments follow the highest standards in policing.

Overall, the agency handed out $33 million in funding for a variety of community police programs across the country.

Flemingsburg was the only Kentucky agency to receive funding.
