Boyle County bridge project to cause road closure Tuesday

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists operations continue on the new bridge over the Chaplin River on US 68/150.

The project began Monday, June 7, and has an anticipated completion date of Thursday, October 14.

Beam setting is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 7. It will be necessary for the bridge area to be temporarily closed for a portion of the day in order for work to be completed, according to the state.

Tuesday, Sept. 7 – 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. (times are approximate)

  • the bridge area will be completely closed to the traveling public

Motorists will need to plan ahead for travel on Tuesday.

Wide load trucks should continue to use the posted alternate detours to avoid the construction site.

All work/closures are scheduled on a tentative basis, and subject to change depending on weather, emergencies, and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
