78-year-old Flat Lick man dies in ATV accident

ONEIDA, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police is investigation the death of a 78-year-old Flat Lick man after he was involved in an ATV accident.

According to KSP, the London Post was notified by dispatch around 10:24 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 29 regarding a single vehicle injury accident near the junction of KY 66 South and KY 1524 in the Oneida area of Clay County.

Troopers found that a red Honda ATV was being driven by Clayton W. Mills, 78, of Flat Lick, south on KY 66 when his ATV went off the highway. Mills overturned into the Red Bird River. He succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by the Clay County Coroner’s Office.

KSP Post 11 Trooper Jarrod Smith is investigating the accident.
