Magoffin County Schools to close for second straight week due to COVID-19
SALYERSVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Magoffin County Public Schools will be out for a second straight week due to COVID-19 data in the county, according to a post on the school district’s Facebook page.
Schools will remain closed Aug. 30 through Sept. 3, 2021, according to the school district.
The school district hopes by keeping students out of the classroom another week will help reduce the coronavirus numbers.
Four days will be added to the end of the 2021-22 school calendar as make-up days, according to the school district.
Students are scheduled to return to in-person instruction in classrooms on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021, in addition to the continuation of the Virtual Academy, according to the district.
