CASA Lexington’s ‘Superhero Run’ raises $25,000
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – CASA’s Lexington branch assembled some heroes at Winstar farms for its 9th annual ‘Superhero 5K Run’ Saturday.
CASA advocates for abused children in the court system. Executive Director, Melynda Jamison, says the superhero run is to recognize that casa workers are truly superheroes.
“So CASA works with abused and neglected children. We feel like those children need superheroes. And our CASA volunteers are truly superheroes. For them because they advocate for what’s in their safe and permanent interest. So we’re out here today raising awareness for casa, supporting the organization and raising funds for it” said Melynda Jamison.
The event raised $25,000 in donations.
