UK reports 37 coronavirus cases as students return to campus
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The University of Kentucky on Friday reported 37 positive COVID-19 cases as students return to campus for the fall semester.
Classes begin Monday, Aug. 23.
The school’s last case update was Aug. 11 when there were 15 positive cases.
UK is not requiring students or employees to get vaccinated.
The school is requiring masks to be worn indoors on campus, regardless of vaccination status.
People who aren’t vaccinated are required to complete a daily screening for COVID-19 symptoms and exposure, and will also be required to be tested for COVID-19 throughout the semester.
Unvaccinated students are required to take a COVID-19 test and submit the results to the school before Aug. 27, according to the university’s fall guidebook.
The UK dashboard will be updated weekly on Fridays.
