Man arrested for assaulting father

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) — Police report the arrest of Jerry L. McGee on March 9, after the man allegedly pushed his father and slammed a door on the man’s fingers. 

Officers report being dispatched to Baptist Health Richmond at approximately 3:40 Wednesday afternoon, to speak with McGee’s 86-year-old father. 

The man told police he had picked up his son from the hospital, after McGee had been involved in a moped accident. After going to their home on Cottonwood Drive, McGee allegedly told his father to leave the house. While heading for the door, McGee’s father said his son pushed him, then slammed the front door on his hand after the man grabbed the doorframe to steady himself. 

The father returned to Baptist Health, receiving 14 stitches on one finger. 

Police report 46 year old Jerry McGee was arrested and charged with 2nd degree assault.
