Three people killed in Winchester apartment fire

WINCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – Three people are dead and several others injured, following a fire at an apartment complex in Winchester.

That fire started just after 1 a.m. Friday at B&P Apartments at 202 Springmist Lane.

The battalion chief says two people were confirmed dead at the scene. Six people were taken to the hospital, where one later died.

The fire burned at least 10 units in the complex and displaced 20 people.

The Red Cross is on the scene to assist the victims.

Lexington firefighters were called in to help battle the fire.

The battalion chief says arson investigators will be at the scene Friday, trying to determine a cause.
