New Fayette cases hit 145, first five days in August already surpass June
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington reported 145 new COVID-19 cases Thursday, the most reported cases in one day since 196 cases on Feb. 15.
The new cases pushed the county’s total since March 2020 to 37,535.
The one-day total followed 117 Wednesday, 141 Tuesday and 119 Friday.
The city’s 7-day rolling average rose from 103 to 109 cases a day. That’s up from 99 Wednesday and 91 Tuesday.
Through the first five days of August, Lexington already has almost half the total cases reported in all of July: 644 in August and 1,331 in July.
The county has recorded 326 deaths since the outbreak began in March 2020.
