UPDATE: New sign installed for historic renaming of Stanford hotel

STANFORD, Ky. (WTVQ) – A new sign with a new and historically significant name has gone up for a Stanford hotel.

The Inn at Wilderness Road has been renamed to The Stanford Inn at Wilderness Road.

The hotel includes eight guestrooms and five nearby guest houses that blend elements of the past with modern comforts.

“In all of the rooms and guest houses, we have preserved the original architectural features,” says Angela Correll, co-founder of Wilderness Road Hospitality. “We are now extending that preservation to even the name as part of our efforts to acknowledge the time, labor and craftsmanship that went into these buildings so many years ago.”

STANFORD, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Stanford hotel is looking back and moving forward as it announces a new name. The guest houses and the Rooms at St. Asaph are being renamed The Stanford Inn at Wilderness Road.

This new name was inspired by one of the the original names of the hotel and covers both the rooms and the guest houses. The building that houses the Rooms at St. Asaph has run as a hotel since 1880 and was called the Stanford Hotel in 1918.

Visitors will soon see a new sign on the building that incorporates elements of the old-fashioned signage the buildings have used in the past. The Inn’s entrance will also be updated to invite and welcome guests looking for a petite room or a guest house.
