Netgain’s Ward retires after 24 years, Sawin joins company
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ/Press Release) – Rick Ward, the chief financial officer at Lexington’s Netgain Technologies, has retired after a long tenure with the company and Dwight Sawin has been named to replace him as vice president of finance, the company announced.
Ward, who joined NetGain Technologies in 1997, led the organization and finance department through significant growth, including eight acquisitions that expanded the company into six different states.
In addition, he helped the company gain a significant investment from Evergreen Services Group in 2018. Through challenging times like Y2K, the 2008 recession, and, most recently, the global COVID-19 pandemic, Ward’s leadership ensured NetGain’s ability to conquer any financial hardships caused by economic crises.
“Rick Ward is exactly the type of leader and financial guru you want at your organization. NetGain Technologies would not be where we are today without him, and the many years of hard work. I can’t thank him enough for all of his years of service” said Tim Burke, CEO of NetGain Technologies. “With every bittersweet change is an opportunity and I’m thrilled to have Dwight Sawin join the NetGain executive leadership team. His accounting and finance experience, along with his leadership style and M&A background, make him a great addition to the team.”
Prior to joining NetGain, Sawin was the chief financial officer at Beneco, a specialty provider of retirement plans, compliance services, and employee benefits. He has a Master of Business Administration from Grand Canyon University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting from Rider University.
“I want to thank Rick Ward for his distinguished leadership at NetGain Technologies and also for the trust of the entire NetGain leadership team as I step into this role,” said Sawin. “I am grateful for this opportunity and excited about working with such a talented team of individuals to advance NetGain Technologies future growth.”
NetGain Technologies, the leader in IT services for small and medium businesses in the Midwestern and Southeastern U.S., is growing significantly.
