Road project in Scott County to reduce Georgetown Road to at least one lane

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Drivers should be aware of a road project on Georgetown Road/US 460 that will impact traffic. The project includes asphalt repairs, milling/paving and sidewalk ramp improvements.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has issued an asphalt milling and paving schedule from Paynes Depot Road to around the Rocky Creek Subdivision East of Scotland Drive, covering a distance of 2.91 miles.

Saturday, July 10 through Sunday, July 11 – 7 p.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Sunday

  • milling will begin at the Georgetown Bypass and progress to the East end of the project
  • paving operations will begin at the Shell Gas Station and move to the Georgetown Bypass

Sunday, July 11 through Monday, July 12 – 7 p.m. Sunday until 5 a.m. Monday

  • paving will begin at the East end of the project and progress to the I-75 Bridge

Monday, July 12 through Tuesday, July 13 – 7 p.m. Monday until 5 a.m. Tuesday

  • paving will begin at the I-75 Bridge and progress to the Georgetown Bypass

All operations will happen between milepoints 8.583 and 11.497. At least one lane will stay open at all times for drivers. At specific periods, flaggers and local law enforcement will be present to guide and direct traffic.

All road work is scheduled tentatively and could change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the Department of Highways’ control.
