EKU releases inaugural Men’s Basketball ASUN conference schedule

RICHMOND, Ky. (EKU Athletics) – Eastern Kentucky University’s inaugural ASUN Conference men’s basketball schedule was released today by the league office.

The Colonels will begin their first ASUN slate at home on Jan. 6 when fellow conference newcomer Central Arkansas visits McBrayer Arena.  Two days later, EKU’s first road ASUN game will be played at new in-state rival Bellarmine on Saturday, Jan. 8.

In addition to Central Arkansas, ASUN Conference home games for the 2021-22 season will include Bellarmine, Liberty, Lipscomb, North Florida, Kennesaw State, North Alabama and Jacksonville State.

Season tickets for the 2021-22 men’s basketball campaign will be available soon to the public.  Deposits for new season tickets are currently being accepted at EKUSports.com/MBBDeposit.  Tickets start at just $59.

Eastern Kentucky will be part of the ASUN West Division which will also include Jacksonville State, Lipsomb, North Alabama, Bellarmine and Central Arkansas.  The Colonels will play each of those five teams twice during the regular season.

The ASUN East Division will feature Kennesaw State, Florida Gulf Coast, Jacksonville, North Florida, Liberty and Stetson.  The Colonels will play each of those six teams once.

EKU remains within divisional play the second week of league play.  On Jan. 13, the Colonels will play at North Alabama before returning home to host Jacksonville State on Jan. 15.

Eastern plays host to Lipscomb on Jan. 20 and then faces its first East Division foe on Jan. 22 when North Florida comes to Richmond.

EKU reaches the halfway point of the conference schedule with a road trip to Florida.  The Colonels play at Florida Gulf Coast in Fort Myers on Jan. 27and then at Stetson in Deland on Jan. 29.

On Feb. 3 Eastern Kentucky will host Kennesaw State before Liberty visits on Feb. 5.  Following those two home games, the Colonels will close out the regular season with four of their final six games on the road.  The final game against a West Division team is on Feb. 9 at Jacksonville.  EKU plays at Lipscomb on Feb. 12.  North Alabama pays a visit to McBrayer Arena on Feb. 16.  Road games at Central Arkansas and Jacksonville State are slated for Feb. 19 and Feb. 23.

The final regular season ASUN game of the season will be on Saturday, Feb. 26 at home against Bellarmine.
