State’s COVID positivity rate approaches 2 percent, other numbers also down
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – The state’s positivity rate dropped to 2.12 percent Tuesday while the state caught up on its new COVID cases after Monday’s low totals caused by a lab reporting error.
Gov. Andy Beshear announced 2,091,572 Kentuckians vaccinated as of Tuesday. He also reported 614 new cases of #COVID19 and a decreased positivity rate of 2.12%, down from 2.28%.
The counties with the highest vaccination rates continued to be Woodford, Franklin, Fayette, Boone and Campbell while the counties with the lowest rates still are Christian, Spencer, Ballard, Hickman and Clinton although each of those counties now has at least 20 percent of their residents with one dose.
The governor also reported six deaths, which pushed the state total since March 6, 2020 to 7,109.
The hospitalization numbers fell from 283 to 273 with 80, down from 93, in ICU and 57, down from 40, on a ventilator.
