Flooding in Laurel County

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Melting snow and rainfall caused some heavy flooding in many areas of the Bluegrass, especially in Laurel County.
Rick Sawyers is a resident on Happy Hollow Road, which is currently flooded. Water is covering his front yard but he’s thankful it didn’t reach his driveway.
“At least we can get in or out, if we have to leave for something,” said Sawyers.
The sheriff’s office says Laurel County got about eight inches of snow, followed by rain which caused creeks to swell and now about a dozen roads are flooded.
Despite more rain in the forecast, the sheriff’s office doesn’t think the creeks will get any higher but says it will take a day or two for the water to go down, and the roads to be safe to drive on.
