Arrest in armed robbery at Pikeville pharmacy
PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – An arrest has been made in an armed robbery at the Commonwealth Pharmacy in Pikeville.
Officers say they received a 911 call about 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday about the robbery. Troopers say further investigation revealed a man had entered the pharmacy, showed a firearm, and then demanded prescription medication. Afterwards, officers say the man ran off on foot. Investigators, along with K-9 units, were unable to locate the man.
At about 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, however, Troopers say they found 33-year-old Christopher Daniels coming out of a wooded area onto the Left Fork of Toler Creek in Floyd Co. Officers say Daniels matched the description of the robber. Investigation revealed Daniels to be the robber, officers say, and he was placed under arrest.
Daniels was taken to the Pike Co. Detention Center and charged with robbery.
