Pedestrian critically injured after being hit by car

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police say a pedestrian was critically injured Monday evening after being hit by a car at the intersection of Russell Cave Road and New Circle Road. Police say the man who was hit was illegally crossing New Circle Road around 7:30 p.m.

The victim’s name wasn’t released. A section of the busy road was closed for a couple of hours while the accident was investigated.

Police say the driver of the car wasn’t hurt and was not cited.
