Vigil planned for Lexington’s first homicide victim of 2016

LEXINGTON, Ky (WTVQ) –Detectives with Lexington Police are still looking for information regarding the city’s first homicide of 2016.

Adriana McEady started a GoFundMe for McDowell, to help with funeral expenses.

McDowell’s father is planning a candle light vigil on Saturday, January 30th, from 4:30 to 5:30 on Roosevelt Drive.

Officers say they are still looking for suspects, but don’t have any solid leads on what led to the death of Joseph McDowell, 28.

McDowell was found by a neighbor in the early morning of January 1st, with multiple gunshot wounds on Roosevelt Boulevard. He later died at UK Hospital.
