Busy day for Lexington Police and road crews

Lexington Police were busy Wednesday morning helping drivers try to get to work in the snow.

Salt trucks are out but crews say as the sun goes down, roads could re-freeze.  Lexington police say drivers just need to go slow and be smart out on the roads.
Officers have already helped over 90 collisions on Wednesday, thankfully no one was hurt. Crews are working around the clock and say main streets should be okay. Trucks have been on those since the snow started and are now making their way into neighborhoods.

Rob Allen with Streets and Roads says, “I hate to call it practice because it’s for real and it is important but yes it’s a good shake out. you certainly would want to start with an event of this magnitude to get prepared or get your game face on for what may come.”
Now crews say it is best if you can stay off the road while these trucks are out. If you have to drive, be sure to give the trucks plenty of space to work over the next few days.
