Southbound Interstate 65 closed after wreck near Sonora

SONORA, Ky. (AP) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says a fatal crash has closed southbound Interstate 65 in LaRue County.

The closure is near mile point 77, just south of Sonora.

Cabinet spokesman Chris Jessie said in an email that investigation and cleanup would likely continue through Tuesday afternoon. Jessie said travelers going through to Bowling Green should use the Western Kentucky Parkway, and local commuters should use U.S. 31W or U.S. 31E.
