Sheriff: Woman arrested after showing up at jail intoxicated

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Laurel Co. Sheriff says a woman was arrested Sunday evening when she showed up to the Laurel Co. Detention Center to bond out a relative while she was intoxicated.

Deputies responded to the jail after receiving a complaint about a woman in the detention center’s lobby who smelled of alcohol.  When they arrived, deputies say they found 50-year-old Kimberly Wilder getting into a car in the parking lot.  Deputies say they spoke with her and determined that she was under the influence.   Deputies also say she was drinking from an open can of beer in the car.

Wilder was charged with public intoxication and having an open alcoholic beverage in a car.
