KSP Trooper provides update on toddler found safe in the beginning of May

KNOTT COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – One of the troopers involved in finding a missing toddler at the beginning of May visited the girl with a few gifts.

Trooper Gayheart posted on Facebook he visited 3-year-old Maddie and brought her a trooper teddy bear.

Maddie went missing from her Knott County home May 4 and was found the next day with a few minor scratches.

Gayheart says she’s ‘fully recovered.’ He also says a family from Georgia heard about Maddie and her like for chicken nuggets and sent Trooper Gayheart with a McDonald’s giftcard for her.
