Tow-truck fire impacts evening commute in Lexington
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A tow-truck fire slowed traffic on southbound I-75 at the Athens-Booneboro Exit during the Thursday evening commute.
One lane was closed at the exit ramp for four hours, according to Lexington police.
Investigators say a wrecker hauling two vehicles suffered a flat tire while traveling south on I-75. Police say the tow-truck driver tried to get the vehicle off at the exit but it caught fire, damaging the tow-truck and both the vehicles it was hauling.
Police say no one was hurt. The lane was reopened around 7:00 p.m., according to police.
