KYTC: Avoid unnecessary travel, know your district
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The state transportation cabinet is advising motorists to avoid unnecessary travel over the next few days. If you have to be on the roads, transportation officials want you to be aware of which district you reside in, so you can stay up to date with the proper social media accounts.
According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, there are 12 districts in the state. Each district has a website and social media accounts you can follow.
For a closer look at each district, you can view the map HERE.
KYTC also encourages drivers to keep a vehicle winter emergency kit with things like a blanket, snacks, water, a phone charger and shovel.
Also, keep fluid levels and your gas tank full. Be sure to clear ice from the windshield, plan your route ahead of time and check your tire pressure and tread.
