Officers get special lunch invitation

Lexington, Ky. (WTVQ) –  The fifth grade gifted reading students at Lexington’s Dixie Elementary had some special visitors today.

The children hosted a lunch for nine officers with the Lexington Police Department as a way to show their gratitude for what police do.

Each student wrote a letter thanking an officer for his or her service.  many of those letters praised officers for their bravery and their willingness to risk their lives protecting others.
