Coroner: Autopsy scheduled Monday for 18 year old killed on Kent Drive

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The coroner says an 18 year-old man was killed around 8:30 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Cabot and Kent Drive.

Officials say he was found in the driver’s seat of an SUV with a head injury.

A neighbor told ABC 36 that while at home with his family they heard what sounded like firecrackers. They later learned that it was something more serious as police taped off the area near their home.

Police say this is being investigated as a homicide. The mobile crime lab unit was at the scene for several hours gathering evidence and searching for clues into what led to the man’s death.

The victim’s identity has not been revealed yet. According to the coroner, the man’s body will be taken to the state medical examiner’s office on Monday for an autopsy.
