1 dead, 2 injured in Frankfort apartment fire

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – One person is dead and two others are critically injured following a fire in Frankfort.

Firefighters were called to Country Hills Apartments on Schenkel Drive at around 2 a.m. Friday.

The Franklin County coroner says three people were injured in the fire.

All three were taken to the Franklin County Regional Medical Center, where one of the victims was pronounced dead.

The other two victims were then taken to the University of Kentucky hospital – one flown and the other taken by ambulance. Both are listed in critical condition.

Firefighters do not yet know what caused this fire.
