Mayor Jim Gray denies connection to KKK

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – After Lexington Mayor Jim Gray’s name showed up on a list of Ku Klux Klan members Monday, the mayor is denying any connection to the group.

Gray’s name was released with other political names by Hactivist group Anonymous on the website Pastebin. Anonymous said in a press release that the list is part of a hack and an effort “unmask members” and shut down the KKK.

Gray released a statement this morning that said, “This allegation is false, insulting and ridiculous. I have never had any relationship of any kind with the KKK. I am opposed to everything it stands for. I have no idea where this information came from, but wherever it came from, it is wrong.”

The mayor also took to Twitter this morning to say the release is “insulting and ridiculous.”
