The era of 1-on-1 offense

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – John Calipari doesn’t like playing zone defense and he doesn’t like set plays on offense.

It’s all for the reason.  None of it is done in the NBA.

Yesterday, we heard Cal say he doesn’t play zone-D because it only hides poor defenders…instead of create better man-to-man defenders to prepare guys for the next level.

Offensively, it’s the same thing.

The days of set plays for buckets in the post are long gone and Cal wants to make sure his players are ready for the change.
