Beshear presenting Governor’s Awards in the Arts
FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) – Gov. Steve Beshear and other state officials are presenting the Governor’s Awards in the Arts on Thursday in Frankfort.
Longtime newspaperman and broadcast journalist Al Smith is receiving the Milner Award, and bluegrass musician Sam Bush is recipient of the National Award.
The recipients were announced earlier this year, but the presentation is being held at 10 a.m. EDT in the Capitol Rotunda.
Other awards are going to Appalachian artist Linda Pigman Fifield, Lexington manufacturer Big Ass Solutions, Louisville-based Creative Diversity Studio, Centre College music professor Nathan Link, western Kentucky sculptor Willie Rascoe, the Paducah Convention and Visitors Bureau and Kentucky broadcaster Dave Shuffett.
