Police continue search for suspect in coffee shop robbery
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police say they are investigating a robbery at Common Grounds, a drive-thru coffee shop in Lexington. The robbery happened Thursday around 7:30 p.m.
This is not the first time the business has been hit by thieves. In the most recent crime, Lexington Police say someone wearing a hoodie pulled-up to coffee shop on Hartland Parkway, pulled out a gun and demanded money from the clerk. Police say someone in a car nearby saw the armed robbery and followed the suspect’s car
, but eventually lost track of it on Trent Boulevard. No one was hurt, but the robber did get away with some money.
There was another armed robbery at the business on the morning of August 26th of this year. In that robbery, police say a man with a blue bandana over his face pulled up to the drive-thru around 6:30 a.m., pointed a gun at the employee and got away with some cash. No one was hurt.
A couple of months earlier, there was an attempted armed robbery at the business. Prior to that, the shop was broken-in to after hours and someone stole a safe that had cash in it.
