Dogs rescued from Rockcastle Co. sinkhole
MOUNT VERNON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Two dogs were pulled from a large sinkhole in Mount Vernon Friday.
The fire department there says they were called about two dogs that went into a sinkhole on Sand Springs Road.
The chief says the hunting dogs landed at the bottom of a 40-foot hole.
Crews had to make their way to the remote location and say it took a couple of hours to pull both dogs out of the hole.
Rescue crews say the dogs are in good shape but they will be taken to a veterinarian to be checked out.
