Laurel deputies: Man held pregnant girlfriend against her will for 3 days
LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says a man held his pregnant girlfriend against her will with no food for 3 days.
Deputies say 20-year-old Erik Anderson of Woodbine was arrested this afternoon off American Greeting Card Road, south of London. According to investigators, the victim was 31 weeks pregnant. She reportedly told deputies Anderson had assaulted her, then wouldn’t let her leave the couple’s apartment.
Deputies say the woman had bruises on her face and legs. The sheriff’s office says she told investigators Anderson had threatened to punch her in the stomach and kill the baby if he went to jail. The victim says he didn’t want her to leave the apartment because of the visible signs of abuse.
According to investigators, Anderson is charged with assault, unlawful imprisonment, domestic violence and wanton endangerment.
