Flight forced to return after takeoff
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – American Eagle flight 2693 was forced to return to Blue Grass Airport in Lexington shortly after takeoff Monday night because of a possible issue with the plane’s landing gear, according to a spokesperson for ExpressJet Airlines.
Once the crew noticed the possible problem, it declared an emergency and safely returned to the airport at 8:23 p.m. The flight was bound for Dallas-Fort Worth, according to ExpressJet.
The 18-passengers and three crew members had to stay the night in Lexington and would be moved to different flights Tuesday, according to ExpressJet.
Maintenance crews were inspecting the aircraft, according to ExpressJet.
