Family awaits report on police shooting in Elizabethtown

ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (AP) – Jimmy Skeeters is awaiting a report on the shooting death of his son by Elizabethtown police.

The Kentucky State Police are investigating the shooting of 28-year-old Joshua Blough. Investigators are awaiting forensic results from the scene, which could include a toxicology report on Blough.

The News-Enterprise in Elizabethtown reports that once the final investigation report is complete, prosecutors will determine whether to present the case to a Hardin County grand jury.

Skeeters says he thinks about his son every day and he hasn’t slept well since the shooting. Blough was shot and killed on July 7 after police responded to a report of a man armed with a knife.

State Police say when officers reached Blough, he became confrontational and ignored requests to drop the weapon.
