Woman grazed by bullet when neighbor accidentally fired through wall

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A woman is lucky to be alive after a neighbor accidentally fired his gun through a wall Monday afternoon.

Lexington Police say officers were called around 1:30 p.m. for a woman injured when something “exploded through her wall.” When police got to the duplex apartment, they determined that a bullet had traveled through the wall and hit the 27-year-old woman while she was sitting on her couch.

According to police, the bullet grazed her head near the temple and was inches from killing her. According to police, she was taken to University of Kentucky Hospital with non-life threatening injures.

When police went to interview the person who fired the gun, they couldn’t find him. Police say, the person and the gun left after the shooting.

Police say they do want to speak to the man, but as of 4:00 p.m. they do not intend on filing any charges.
