Teacher accused of sexual contact with 16-year-old student

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – Officers in Richmond have arrested a Madison Southern High School teacher after they say she had sexual contact with a student.

Officers and Social Services were called to the school Tuesday, and say an investigation revealed that 24-year-old Brandi Whitaker had an inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old male student.  According to police, Whitaker had sexual contact with the boy on two different occasions, once at her home, and at Boonesborough State Park on another occasion.

Whitaker has been charged with sexual abuse, rape, and sodomy.  She is being taken to the Madison Co. Detention Center.
