Homes evacuated after gas truck slams into tree

LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – 30 to 40 homes have been evacuated in Lawrenceburg after a gas truck had an accident and started leaking.

Officers say the truck went off the road and ran into a tree at about 9:10 a.m.  The driver was taken to UK Hospital with non-life threatening, injuries.

Lawrenceburg police say they’ve to shut down HWY 151 at Old Frankfort Pike, and expect cleanup to take some time.  Homes have been evacuated as a precaution.  Crews were able to contain the small leak from the truck.
