Police: Woman escapes paddy wagon
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – An emergency door provided an escape route for a woman being transported by Lexington police in a patrol wagon.
Court documents say 27-year-old Joanna McGuire was in handcuffs in the back of the wagon when she slipped off her cuffs, climbed out through the emergency door at the top of the wagon and took off at the intersection of Tates Creek Road and New Circle Road.
She was caught after a brief pursuit.
McGuire is now charged with escape.
